On 29 November members of the Meon Group joined with Kath Tudgey and family to remember Ted Tudgey, former Footpath Secretary of the Group, who died in November 2007. A finger post has been erected on East Hoe Road where The Wayfarer's Walk crosses - this has been named The Tudgey Post (grid ref SU 633 158).

We look forward to welcoming new members to walk with us. We have 3 walks of differing length on most Sundays throughout the year and occassional mid-week walks. Whether you want just a gentle half-day's walk or a much longer full day out walking, we have a walk to suit.
Our walks are listed in full on the Ramblers Walks Finder website; the name and contact telephone number of the walk leader is shown. Please call them if you want to find out more about the walk and whether it will suit you. Click here to find out more go to Walks Finder
Work party:
We aim to hold a further work party later in the year. We aim to do work on clearing a local path.
Severe weather:
In the event of a severe weather warning, please make contact with the walk leader to check if the walk is going ahead. The leader of a walk will normally go to the walk start . Our walks usually go ahead unless the weather is exceptionally poor - e.g. high wind plus rain or snow/icy road conditions.
Interesting links:
Here are 2 related websites for those looking for walking routes suitable for those one wheels - buggies and pushchairs or wheelchairs.
Walks with buggies is the only UK web-site totally dedicated to providing free information on routes that are suitable for parents with buggies and young children. Walks with wheelchairs provides the same detail for wheelchair walks. To access the details on both sites you need to register and login (this is free).
We have a varied and interesting programme of walks to suit different abilities (see the page About the Programme). Our walks are listed on the RA Walks Finder website. Using Walks Finder you will be able to a map showing the start of each walk.
The Meon Ramblers are a local group of the Ramblers’ Association, which is a Registered Charity.
Our members come mainly from the Meon Valley and surrounding areas of Fareham and Gosport in Hampshire.
We are a thriving group with a strong membership. We walk mainly in Hampshire on Sundays, but enjoy some walks further afield in West Sussex, Surrey and Dorset. Most Sundays we have 3 different walk in our programme.
